The Asia Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC) followed an intensive but exciting training on IPv6 routing with a second training focused on Network Security from 16-20 November 2020.
Conducted online with trainers David Phelan and Muhammad Yasir, the Network Security training focused on threats and security for personal and corporate computer networks.
Warren Finch was also another APNIC technical staff providing support and moderating for the two presenters. The training also included hands-on workshops which helped to reinforce concepts on Cryptography, DNSSEC, intrusion detection, honeypots and packet capture/analysis. The training was free and attended by members of ITSSI.
Given the deployment of the submarine cable, these training will bridge a gap in technical knowledge. More then 30 participants who play different roles in ICT registered.
Given the intensity of the program some were not able to attend all 5 days of the training. However, all participants were very appreciative of the quality of training and the depth of technical knowledge shown by the APNIC trainers.
